Pros And Cons Of Gas Or Propane Stove

There are two different types of stoves that you could use in the camping, a propane stove or gas stove. Both have different benefits as well as drawbacks while using in the camping. In most of the cases people favor propane gas stoves over white gas or dual fuel stoves. The primary reason behind this is the ease for its use. It is very easy to start the stove; you have to just twist on a can of propane, turn the knob and light the fire and then you could start cooking as you do in home with a gas stove. In some propane stove there are properties such as built-in starters which make the use of such stoves very easy.

However, the main drawback for such stoves is that they could not last long and could only be used for simply cooking. For this reason you could take the help of an adaptor. Ana adaptor allows the user to use larger tanks like the one you use on the propane patio grill. By this you could longer the cooking period for meals that usually take longer time for preparation.

When you are talking about the white gas and or dual fuel stoves, these have a tank that you could fill with fuel from another can by means of the fill port or funnel. Once you have filled the tank you could use the built in pump in order to compress the tank which will force the gas through the generator to the burners. Though it sounds like the ordinary burner but unlike those it could burn with much hotter than propane stove. In such stove the full tank could lasts longer than a propane cylinder. As the tank packs with the stove you just need to bring fuel with you. For the most camping trip you just need a gallon can of fuel, where one gallon of white fuel almost equals to four and half propane cylinders.

The selection of stoves depends upon you and also the type of food you are willing to prepare in the camping. It also depends upon the number of participants in the camping. When you are going with your family you certainly need some more food and that’s why the stove should back it up. Again if you are camping for day or two you don’t need too much of fuel otherwise in case of camping for a week must need more than you have anticipated. Whatever, you decide you should keep all these things in your mind before selecting the stove for cooking.
